We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your generous support, cooperation, and encouragement of Ricca Ricca Festa 2026 – International Theatre Festival for Young Audiences OKINAWA.

Thanks to your kindness and dedication, we were able to bring this year’s festival to a successful close.

This year, the festival presented ten productions, including invited performances and Fringe productions from Belgium, Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, and Japan. We also showcased the outcomes of our Artist Development Programme, featuring Japanese artists alongside artists from five Asian countries, and held the international symposium “Weaving Peace and Coexistence.”

Seeing so many smiling faces enjoying the performances reminded us once again how fortunate we are to be able to present this festival each year, and renewed our sense of gratitude. We were also delighted to welcome interns from Taiwan and Scotland, together with high school students from Okinawa, who served as support staff throughout the festival.

One particularly memorable highlight was the workshop showcase, where children from Taiwan performed on the traditional yueqin alongside Okinawan children playing the sanshin. Watching them joyfully dance “Mamidohma” together filled us with hope for the future of Okinawa, Taiwan, and the wider world.
