KAERUKUN AND FRIENDS

PUPPET THEATRE HIPOPOTAAMU
Japan
Age: Under 6| Duration: 45 mins (with play time)| Japanese (no subtitles)

A SPECIAL DAY: One morning Kaerukun (frog boy) wakes up and realises it is the special day. Usagikun (rabbit boy) told him so the day before. Kaerukun asks many friends but no one knows why it is special. Kaerukun is disappointed and goes home where he finds something amazing.

MY NEW FRIEND: One day Kaerukun found a toy bear in the forest and decides to live with him. Although his friends tell him that the toy bear cannot speak and you cannot be a friend with a toy bear, Kaerukun feeds him, teaches him to talk and they become the best friends. But sadly the toy bear cannot stay with him for long.

Based on a picture book from the Netherlands, Kaerukun and Friends is a double feature performance of hand puppets.
