Bremen Town Musicians

This is a lovely story collected and recorded by the Brothers Grimm in 1819 about growing old, being together and finding your palace in the world when nobody wants you. It’s also a story about working together even when you are really different. It’s about a donkey, a cat, a dog and a rooster who go on an adventure to find their place in the world and find out that they are stronger together than they ever thought that they could be. The show will be full of live music, fun and foolishness. A group of aging animals and rather nasty bunch of robbers, a broken down house, a very dark night and a very confusing battle. Using simple staging, puppets, music, song and storytelling we will bring this tale to life in the intimate setting of an old farmyard.

A message from the artists

"It is really exciting to be coming back to Okinawa to work on this lovely project once again.  We are going to further develop the project and bring it to a wider audience.  It’s a great story about growing up and growing old and finding your place in the world and about how we are stronger together than we are alone.  It’s a great message for our times!  And it’s a fantastic group of actors and artists to work with.  It’s a real honour to be picking up the threads of this project once again."
