Little Red Riding Hood

La Luna nel Letto
Italy
Asian Premiere
Age: 10+| Duration: 50 mins| Non-verbal

Facing the most popular fairy tale story.

A wolf is going to hunt. Any animal of the wood can do, the most important is to calm down the hunger. But his favourite prey is Red Riding Hood. Like in a recurrent dream or in a vision, he worries about the details of her capture: a path full of wonderful flowers is the perfect trick. But this will cost him his life. In this show called life, he is not only a wolf, but THE WOLF that doesn’t win… but never dies.

Michelangelo Campanale directs the group of dancers and acrobats of the Eleina Company by facing the most popular tale: Red Riding Hood, who comes from afar and thanks to time skimming tells about facts of life in a simple but correct way.

Relationships among characters and the story dynamics are revealed on the stage through the body, a non-spoken language inspired by the early nineteenth century cartoons; lights, costumes and settings that consist of a dance made of symbols and painting citations (Goya, Turner, Bosch, Leonardo da Vinci) which redraw the tale by the simplicity of what exists since ever and forever.

A message from the artists

"Dear children and adults of Okinawa!
“Saluti!” – means “greetings” in Italian. Saluti from “La Luna nel Letto” Theatre Company! We make our theatre for children and families and with them. We are very serious about this very fun process, so we always do a lot of research and try out different things when we develop our productions. Do you like trying out new things too? Come meet us at the festival! Ever since we know about the “Ricca Ricca Festa” it has been our dream to take part in it. Now this dream is about to come true. We are very much looking forward to meeting you and to sharing our art and ourselves with you. We believe that only strengthening international cultural ties and giving our children opportunities to see the friendly faces from around the world we can hope for a better future for all of us.
Much love from “La Luna nel Letto”!"
