Aim Universe Tedako Hall is launching a new contemporary dance performance featuring local residents! This year's first performance will be based on the theme of "Yatuzo".

Yatuzo, Urasoe City used to flourish as the gate town of the US military base "Camp Kinza" and was the busiest town in the prefecture. Today, it is known as a 'night town' and is quiet during the daytime, but the return of the base and the development of the west coast area are changing its appearance little by little. This time, the "past and present" of Yatuzo will be portrayed in a dance piece by Yatuzo residents themselves.

Performers include the Yatuzo Chosei Association, Women's Association, Happi Tida Club and children from the Miyagi School of Mathematics and Miyagigahara Children's Centre Dance Club. This is a completely new dance work, created by discovering local history and scenery.

This is the first time you will meet Yatomizu. Close your eyes and listen to the bustle of the past. The scenes of many people meeting and parting there come to mind. All participants will create a work that crosses the past and the present, weaving in the expressions of people who have a connection with this land.
