Rita is a single woman of a certain age with a great sense of drama. Through her love of opera, she tries anxiously to escape the daily grind and the woes of old age. She gets lost in a mental labyrinth where the boundaries between fiction and reality have become entirely blurred. Like an elderly Alice in Wonderland, she is trying to find her way.

In 2015, Randi De Vlieghe and Jef Van gestel introduced the character of Rita in KOPERGIETERY’s much-loved Voetbal op Hoge Hakken [Football on High Heels]. Now, Rita is given a second life and seeks out the thin line between dance, play and performance. Rita is a piece that takes everyday life and transforms it into something extraordinary.
