Mowgli

Young Audience Theatre SamArt
Russia
Asian Premiere
Age: 12+| Duration: 70 mins| Non-verbal

That's the way the world wags. There is a Pack, which means there should be a Leader. The Leader decides either to pick a fight with the enemy or quietly retire. The Leader decides whether the man-cub should become part of the Pack, or he should be torn to pieces by the Big Tiger. It's common knowledge that a human being is the most weak and defenseless creature among all living beings, but, who knows, maybe Mowgli will turn to be the one at whom the Jungle will not dare to laugh. Wolves are free, and they have a free choice.

By using a body language the producers decided to remind spectators of simple things: how the cats are lithe and quirky, how the wolves are mighty and fearless; also, all is not the evil that is big and strong, and, at the same time, all is not the good that is small and weak. One should keep in mind that all living beings on the planet have one mother – Nature.

“Same blood, you and me” is the most important idea of the performance. According to the Jungle Law the one who pronounces it, gets protection. In the modern world this phrase opens many ways for a person, one may be brought into the fold, get help and warning.
